Become a GoodGround mentor.
A GoodGround mentor is not a teacher. They are an adult who chooses to show up consistently for a small group of children — week after week, in the same rhythm, in the same spirit. The relationship is what forms. The content is the occasion.
What we look for
We do not look for credentials. We look for character. A mentor who has spent fifteen years teaching in a school is as welcome as someone who has simply spent a lifetime being curious, caring for others, and knowing how to listen.
The qualities that matter most: genuine warmth with children, the ability to sit with discomfort and not rush to fix it, patience for slowness, and a life that has been shaped by some discipline — a craft, a practice, a faith, a tradition.
What the work involves
Mentors lead one session per week with a group of six to eight children. Sessions are ninety minutes and follow the same weekly structure: a story is shared, an encounter is created, a practice is offered, and there is time for reflection.
Before working with children, every mentor goes through our training programme. This is not a credential course. It is an experience of the rhythm yourself — so that you can offer it to others from the inside out.
Safety and trust
Every mentor completes a background verification before being assigned to a cohort. Sessions take place in supervised spaces. Parents receive a brief note after each session. Trust is built slowly, through consistency.
